Being selected for a PestalozziWorld scholarship was one of the best things that ever happened to me and I would never trade it for anything. Following the PestalozziWorld motto of ‘Head, Heart and Hands’ has enabled me to stand on my own two feet by encouraging me to strive for academic excellence, be compassionate and to expand my practical skills
I was selected for a PestalozziWorld scholarship in 2004 and graduated from the African Village in 2011. After a short time helping out at the Foundation Village as assistant housemother, I went to study agriculture at the Zambian College of Agriculture coming back to help out at the Village during my holidays.
In February 2016 I started working as an assistant farm manager at the Village, helping to manage the organic garden and teach the children agricultural skills ranging from land preparation to planting and harvesting. These valuable skills will enable the students to start agricultural projects back in their villages and teach their parents new sustainable farming methods. I love working in the garden because I get to spend quality time with the children and get to provide them with fresh vegetables for all their meals.
