Summer 2003

Pestalozzi Overseas

Pestalozzi Asian Village

  • The photo on the front page shows the site of the Pestalozzi Asian Village. The location is Dehradun, North India
  • As from 2005, children of different Asian nationalities, including Indians, Nepalese and Tibetans, will live together in the Pestalozzi Asian Village

  • Modelled on the Pestalozzi Village UK, secondary level students who could not otherwise afford it will gain a good holistic education the Pestalozzi way — Head, Heart and Hands. They will live in national houses and learn vocational skills at the Pestalozzi Asian Village while attending good local schools (Dehradun is well known for its academic excellence)

  • The Pestalozzi Asian Foundations will select and look after the students for the Pestalozzi Asian Village

The alumni party, held in London this May, gave UK-based graduates of the Pestalozzi Village the chance to meet old friends — bottom right Hendryk and Ngawang meet for the first time in 30 years! Others met fellow Pestalozzi alumni for the first time. There was also the chance to hear the latest news from Pestalozzi Village UK, Pestalozzi Overseas and the Pestalozzi Foundations
