PestalozziWorld organisations currently sponsor 550 secondary school
There are currently 178 children at the Asian Children’s Village in Dehradun, northern India – equal numbers of Indians, Nepalese and Tibetan exiles. The children attend some of the best and most demanding schools in Dehradun. 17 of our students are currently taking 2-year International Baccalaureate (IB) courses on full scholarships: 3 at United World Colleges in India and Norway, 2 at the Pestalozzi International Village, Sedlescombe, UK and 12 at other colleges in India.
The scholars previously sponsored at Viphya Secondary School, Mzuzu, have all graduated. We hope to start a new scholarship programme in Malawi.
We are sponsoring 66 students at Shri
Sita Ram School,
Doti, in the Far West of Nepal. Some of the recent graduates are
the first girls ever to achieve a first degree pass from the
school. Some students are from the lowest castes.
We are sponsoring 47 students in partnership with the Thai Pestalozzi Foundation, which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2010.
205 students, Zambians and refugees from neighbouring countries are accommodated at the African Children’s Village, Lusaka, Zambia, with its two centres at Ibex Hill and Kasisi.
All these children are now educated in-house. 5 of our Zambian scholars
are taking the IB through scholarships at colleges in India, the first
to do so.
