Scholars

PestalozziWorld organisations currently sponsor 500 secondary school children.

Read here the views on their PestalozziWorld experience from three scholars here.

India

There are currently 168 children at the Asian Children’s Village in Dehradun, northern India – equal numbers of Indians, Nepalese and Tibetan exiles.  The children attend some of the best and most demanding schools in Dehradun.  Three of our scholars were accepted for 2-year International Baccalaureate courses in 2010, 2 at United World College Mahindra, Pune (joining one already there) and 1 at the Pestalozzi International Village, Sedlescombe, UK.

A further 8 scholars are sponsored at local schools in their own communities.

Malawi

13 scholars are sponsored at Viphya Secondary School, Mzuzu.  We hope to bring Malawian students to the African Village in Zambia in future.MalawianchildrenreadingthenewPestalozzibook

Nepal

We are sponsoring 54 students at Shri Sita Ram School, Doti, in the Far West of Nepal.  Some of the recent graduates are the first girls ever to achieve a first degree pass from the school.  Some students are from the lowest castes.

35 scholars study at Budhanilkantha School in Kathmandu, where the Nepalese Government provides scholarships for one-third of the students, who are selected from all over Nepal.  One of our scholars is the School Captain.

A further 3 scholars are sponsored in partnership with PAHAD, the Nepal Pestalozzi Foundation, who will sponsor a further 6 scholars in 2011 through their own fundraising.

Thailand

We are sponsoring 34 students in partnership with the Thai Pestalozzi Foundation, which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2010.

Zambia

170 students, Zambians and refugees from neighbouring countries are accommodated at the African Children’s Village, Lusaka, Zambia, with its two centres at Ibex Hill and Kasisi.  All these children are now educated in-house.

A further 51 girls are sponsored at local schools including 16 at Kasisi Girls Secondary School.

Ex-Scholars

Pestalozziworld is only 10 years old but we already have students who have completed their secondary level education. These students, numbering nearly 200, are continuing into tertiary level education.
