Alumni Mentorship Scheme
The PestalozziWorld mentorship Programme has been set up to connect the Pestalozzi alumni with the current Pestalozzi scholars so that the alumni can provide valuable insights on career paths, personal development and other important life decisions to the scholars. The programme is a great way for alumni to reconnect with the Pestalozzi experience of the past, and give back in substantive ways without committing a lot of time.
We are creating a web based information bank of alumni who are
willing to participate in the mentorship scheme. The
alumnus profile is put on the website. The students can go to the
website and fill out a brief application to get a mentor. This involves
expressing their areas of interest, and also ranking their top 3
choices for mentors. The board members will then try to match the
students with the mentors based on their interests. While the mentor
choices by the students will be important, there might be cases where a
single mentor might be requested by many students. To avoid such
issues, the board members will have the final decision making authority
on mentor assignment. The interactions between mentors and mentees will
help the current students immensely, as they will benefit from the
experience and knowledge the alumni have on matters academic and
otherwise.
