The Indian Pestalozzi Students' Trust

The Indian Pestalozzi Students' Trust (IPST) was established in 1995. The aim of the Indian Pestalozzi Students' Trust is to "promote education in the home country by spreading the Pestalozzi concept through the Alumni of the (UK) Pestalozzi Children's Village".

The Trust is currently concentrating its fund-raising activities on the Pestalozzi Asian Children's Village in Dehradun.  Each year, 8 Indian children will join children from Tibetan refugee communities and from Nepal to attend some of the best day schools in the city for 6 years (Classes 6-12).  By 2010 the Village will be supporting 50 Indian children.  All donations made to IPST will be contributed directly to Indian children's education at the Village.  For more information, please contact Mrs Uma Uniyal, IPST c/o the Pestalozzi Children's Village Society uma_nyl @ yahoo.co.in

The Trust currently looks after 22 students. 7 of these students are funded by IPST and 15 by POCT.

The longer term targets of the Trust are to be sponsoring 50 students, to have a regular newsletter, and to develop a fund raising programme.
